The MLA Forum for Modern and Contemporary Chinese invites self-nominations for executive committee candidates. Executive committee members serve a five-year term, beginning at the MLA Annual Convention in 2026, and must be prepared to retain MLA membership and regularly attend the MLA Convention during this period. The Forum will vote on nominees at the coming convention in New Orleans, Jan. 9-11, 2025.
If you wish to be considered, please send a short paragraph detailing your goals for the MLA Modern and Contemporary Chinese forum to nmv10@psu.edu and nkisaacs@ncsu.edu no later than 6 January, 2024.
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be appointed:
- Must be an MLA member: If they aren’t currently, the appointee can join or renew and then be eligible.
- Cannot already be serving on another forum executive committee, unless their term ends in January of 2025.
- Cannot have served on the executive committee to which they are being appointed after 2018.
