[Call for Papers] The Joint Postgraduate Student Symposium on History and Culture, Language and Cognition 2023 (Deadline of abstract submission: 3 Feb 2023)
The Department of Chinese Culture of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University is pleased to announce that the Joint Postgraduate Student Symposium on History and Culture, Language and Cognition (JPSS-HCLC) will be held on 21 April 2023. The symposium will provide an inter-institutional forum for postgraduate research students from the Asia Pacific Region and beyond from different disciplines to present and discuss their research, exchange ideas, and share experiences. Postgraduate students from areas of humanities, social sciences and arts are all welcome.

Themes (including but not limited to): Cultural Studies, History, Literature, Religion and Philosophy, Linguistics, Cognitive processes, Translation and Interpreting, Discourse Studies, Multimedia and Semiotics, Language and Music
Concise Submission Guideline: If you are interested in this symposium, you must submit the paper abstract before 18:00 HKT on February 3, 2023 (Friday), sending it as an attachment to jpsspolyu2023@gmail.com. The total words should NOT exceed 200 words in English or 300 characters in Chinese. You will receive a response email on whether your paper is accepted on February 13, 2023 (Monday). Upon notification of acceptance, you must submit your full article before 18:00 HKT on March 24, 2023 (Friday).
Concise Presentation Guideline: 20 minutes for each presenter (15 mins for presenting your research and 5 mins for Q&A). Cantonese, Mandarin, and English are all welcome as the language medium of presentation and discussion.
Best Paper Award: At least one best paper will be awarded and presented online at the end of the symposium, and a gift will be sent to the awardee(s) by mail
