A recent addition to ancient giant Buddhas is a headless one discovered near Taiyuan in 1982 and built circa Northern Qi. Given a new head in the style of that period and building tourist infrastructure, it was open to pubic only last year as the Mengshan Big Buddha 蒙山大佛.–Lily Lee <l.lee@sydney.edu.au>
