Li Zhi book published

9780231166126The late-Ming essayist, thinker, and troublemaker Li Zhi (1527-1602) is well-known, but until recently has been only scantily represented in English translation. A new anthology of his writings, published by Columbia University Press, attempts to fill this gap:

A Book to Burn and a Book to Keep (Hidden): Selected Writings of Li Zhi. Translated by Rivi Handler-Spitz, Pauline C. Lee, and Haun Saussy. New York: Columbia University Press, 2016.
