For the second year in a row, I am honored to help present the Women’s Summit through my involvement with the Women’s Student Intiatives Leadership Cohort. Similar to last year’s summit, we had a range of inspirational speakers and empowering workshops. This year, the theme of the summit was powHERful. I coordinated the Women in Business panel with esteemed professionals from the Fisher College of Business, Target, and L Brands. In addition to the Women in Business panel, we also had panels of women in other male dominated industries like STEM and law. One of the sessions that I thoroughly enjoyed was a workshop on financial literacy presented by Fidelity Investments. With this newfound knowledge I will be better financially prepared for my future.
In addition, I was honored to introduce Kimber Perfect, the keynote speaker of the 6th annual Women’s Summit. Kimber is currently serving as the Chief Deputy of Staff for Mayor Ginther, the mayor of Columbus. Her story has truly inspired me. Similar to Tricia Downing’s story, Kimber’s story reinforced that no matter what obstacle finds it’s way before you there will always be a way to overcome.
