As mentioned in Women’s Leadership Connection Conference – January 2015, OSU’s chapter of the Undergraduate Business Women’s Association planned the 2016 Big 10 Women’s Business Connection Conference! While I played a more supporting role in planning the conference, it was really amazing to see what a group of college women can accomplish together.
This year’s conference included Stefanie Miller the Global Vice President of Strategic Partnership Marketing, Dr. Sarah Fisher Gardial the Dean of the Tippie College of Business at University of Iowa, and a panel of Forte Leaders. I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with the leaders from the other schools. It was amazing learning how other chapters of Women in Business accomplish the same ultimate goal while going about it in a completely different fashion.
During Miller’s keynote, I was especially impacted when she said “if it’s going to be, it’s up to me.” I think so many people try to leave these situations up to chance. I really liked the way she captures persistence and resilience in a fun quip. I grew so much during my visit to Atlanta with such a great group of young women. I look forward to leveraging the new found insights to better serve the members of the Undergraduate Business Women’s Association and the large community.
