The Women’s Leadership Connection Conference is a yearly conference that had its inaugural year in 2015. This conference strives to connect the leadership teams of all women business organizations at the various Big Ten universities. In 2015, the conference took place in Chicago and was hosted by the University of Iowa. In 2016, the Ohio State University will host the conference in Atlanta, GE.
In 2015, the Undergraduate Business Women’s Association Executive Board chapter at OSU had the privilege of presenting to the other groups about professional development. It was incredibly beneficial to share the impact we make on our campus, but to also receive feedback on what others do and how we can do it better. This experience forged a connection to the real world. This conference exposed me to others who are doing the same work that I am, just as passionately, but in a different way and place. Through this experience I was able to recalibrate my technic and begin to recognize the power of a national joint effort rather than singular contributions on campuses.
As I mentioned earlier, OSU will be hosting the conference next year. This provides the OSU Executive team with the opportunity to utilize some of the advice that we received at the conference this year. Stay posted for more information as planning commences!
