Rewind back to junior year of high school. I was awkward, uncertain, and kind of scared for college. Luckily, I was invited to attend an event put on by Ohio State to learn more about the university. In retrospect, I believe this event quelled a lot of my worries for college and made me far more confident for the transition.
After a year at Ohio State, I realized how thankful I was for that experience and I thought to myself that I would like to help create that experience for other high school students. I sent an email to the OSU recruiter that I had been in contact with when I was navigating the application process and expressed interest in volunteering to help with recruitment efforts in Cincinnati. Since that conversation, I have had the honor to sit on the student panel twice.
There are few things I enjoy more than giving backto the university that has taught me so much. I hope that through my efforts there are a handful more high school students excited rather than nervous for the transition (and hopefully a handful more Buckeyes too!).
