s part of the facilitator certification process, all new SLA members have to complete a mock facilitation with their fellow SLA members. My mock facilitation focused on conflict resolution. I would tell you exactly how that activity goes, but then I would be giving away the magic of the activity (and we simply can’t have that!). I will say that it went really swimmingly. It was exhilarating to get in front of my peers and share knowledge with them. I learned a lot about how to command attention as well as probe for “ah-ha” moments. I am so excited to continue to learn and grow through SLA. I can hardly wait to become certified so I can share these insights with the rest of the university! Next step will be shadowing and then co-faciliating.
