A new video posted today, serving as the first episode of a new series called ETHOS—Ethics Throughout Ohio State—features CFAES soil scientist Rattan Lal. You can watch it above.

Improving ‘the life of our community’

The series will highlight the ethical motivations and challenges of research done at Ohio State, the video’s YouTube description says. The idea is to show “how scholars across many disciplines are helping to improve the life of our community.” The series is being produced by the university’s Center for Ethics and Human Values.

Lal is Distinguished University Professor of Soil Science in CFAES’ School of Environment and Natural Resources and is director of CFAES’ Carbon Management and Sequestration Center. He recently received the Japan Prize, considered one of the most prestigious honors in science and technology.
