Time to Write Thank You Notes

It is a perfect time to write thank you notes to everyone who made fair possible.

Your awards (trophies, ribbons, plaques, plates, etc.) all need a thank you written.

Also, please think about writing thank you notes to your club advisors, species committee members who helped throughout the week, Senior Fairboard Members, Junior Fairboard, parents, Sales Committee, and anyone else who has helped throughout your 4-H experience.

New for 2023…exhibitors MUST turn in thank you notes to the Fair Office to receive premium checks.  

For the Greene County Senior Fairboard, Junior Fairboard, and Sales Committee, please address 120 Fairground Road, Xenia, OH 45385.

It takes so many individuals to put on a great fair and we are lucky to be able to work with them all.  Now, we need your help to show your appreciation.

Please make sure you are showing appreciation for the donations and the time people spend to put on our fair.

Thank You Note Winners

The Greene County Commissioners reviewed entries for the annual thank you note contest.  They choose the following as the thank you notes for the 2021 Greene County Fair!

The winners will receive $10.00 in Fair Bucks to use at fair.  Congratulations to all!

Cloverbud age group: Ava Watson from Hare Raisers 4-H Club

8-10 years old: Reagan Montgomery from Hare Raisers 4-H Club

11-13 years old: Elizabeth Lundy from Saddle Up Your Horses 4-H Club

14 and over: Abby Paris from Cedarville Hot Shots

We will have these notes printed and ready to go for all to write their thank you notes to those people and organizations that support our 4-H members!

Writing Thank You Notes

Now that fair is over, please make sure you take the time to write a thank you note to the sponsors of your awards and buyers.  This is very important to show appreciation to these supporters.

While you are at it, feel free to write a letter of appreciation to others who helped make your 4-H year memorable.  This could be parents, club leaders, volunteers at fair, etc.

Also, please take the time to thank the Senior Fair Board directors and barn superintendents (120 Fairground Road, Xenia, OH 45385).

Remember, the sponsors of awards and buyers did not have to do this for you.  Please do these thank you notes in a timely manner to show your appreciation.

Livestock Sales Thank You Note Turn-In Information

All 4-H & FFA market exhibitors are required to turn in completed thank you notes.  These need to be turned into the fair office.

Please note that these thank you notes must be turned in prior to youth receiving their checks.  They should be in an envelope that is addressed and stamped.

The following are the turn-in dates and times:

  • Monday, August 13 from 5-7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 21 from 5-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 29 from 5-7 p.m.

If you are unable to turn them in during these times, they must be turned in to the fair office during regular business hours of 8:30-12:30 p.m.

A lot of respect can be earned or lost by our ability to say thanks. Thank you notes help our sponsors/buyers realize that the award sponsorship really means something to you. It helps make them more interested in sponsoring next year. For help in writing that thank you note or letter click here.
