Each Species Committee is invited and expected to send a representative to a meeting on November 4 at 6pm in the Buckeye Room at the Extension Office. Species Committee Chairs were sent an email invitation, including the agenda.

The Greene County Fair is requiring all Market Hogs be Ractopamine-free, in order to meet the requirements of packers who purchase hogs. More information will be available soon, but this is a great start! Breeders, exhibitors, feed suppliers – awareness and education are key! Please take some time to review.

Are you planning on showing hogs at the Greene County Fair? Mark your calendars for the OSU Jr. Swine Day. It will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
Registration fee is $10 per person. Please pre-register by March 16. Registration is limited to register early!
Agenda includes evaluating and selecting your pig project, meat science, feeding show pigs, becoming a “swientist” with healthy habits for you and your pig, showmanship and OHPIGS, and Assuring Quality Care for Animals and Youth PQA Certification.
