Ohio 4-H Pathways Launches Work Ethic Certification for Ohio High School Students

The MRW Work Ethic Certification focuses on the 12 statements of the S.W.E.A.T. Pledge. Each statement has a story, and each story comes from Mike’s personal experience working with entrepreneurs and hardworking people across the country. Through this program, we break down the origin of each statement in 12 lessons and explore why we believe every student and worker can benefit from embracing this pledge, regardless of their job or skill set.

The MRW Work Ethic Certification will be offered virtually beginning September 18. Participants must be able to attend all sessions to be eligible to receive the certification.

The registration deadline is September 8, and the program is limited to 20 participants.

Each webinar will be offered live on Zoom at 7 P.M. and feature presentations in a 60-minute span. Attendees will be able to interact with the speakers and ask questions in real-time. Once registered, attendees will be granted access to the full online course including the live-webinars, webinar recordings, and complementary resources, which includes a digital copy of the full class manual. Participants that attend all four webinars will have the opportunity to earn a certificate of completion.

The webinar schedule and topics are as follows.
• Wednesday, August 30th- Hay Day

The Forages for Horses course utilizes Scarlet Canvas (which is OSU’s platform for online learning) to house additional videos, presentations, articles, and digital access to the traditional course manual. For best performance, Canvas should be used on the current or first previous major release of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. Canvas runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, or any other device with a modern web browser.

Cost of the course is $75. Registration includes access to all online content through August 30, 2024. Current and new members of the Ohio Forage and Grasslands Council are eligible for a $15 discount on registration. You may still register after the live webinars have occurred.

Questions about the course or the OFGC member discount code can be directed to Christine Gelley of Noble County OSU Extension at gelley.2@osu.edu.

Time to Write Thank You Notes

It is a perfect time to write thank you notes to everyone who made fair possible.

Your awards (trophies, ribbons, plaques, plates, etc.) all need a thank you written.

Also, please think about writing thank you notes to your club advisors, species committee members who helped throughout the week, Senior Fairboard Members, Junior Fairboard, parents, Sales Committee, and anyone else who has helped throughout your 4-H experience.

New for 2023…exhibitors MUST turn in thank you notes to the Fair Office to receive premium checks.

For the Greene County Senior Fairboard, Junior Fairboard, and Sales Committee, please address 120 Fairground Road, Xenia, OH 45385.

It takes so many individuals to put on a great fair and we are lucky to be able to work with them all.  Now, we need your help to show your appreciation.

Please make sure you are showing appreciation for the donations and the time people spend to put on our fair.

Thank you!
