- Team Goal
The team’s expectations of quality level is represented by each team member giving their best effort at each task they are assigned. We may not be able to reach perfection on each assignment, but we will strive to put in our best effort and improve on that effort on each new assignment. Minimum acceptable goals require each teammate to at least get their part done. If someone is not able to finish their part completely, it must be communicated with the group beforehand to prevent work from being incomplete.
- Meetings Frequency
We will meet approximately once a week, however this may change throughout the semester due to changing assignments. If a heavier workload is assigned in any given week, the number of team meetings may need to be increased. The primary meeting day will be Wednesday after 5 pm on the first floor of Drackett Tower. If Wednesday is not available, perhaps Monday could serve as a potential secondary meeting day if necessary. Drew will be in charge of reminders and Ryan will be in charge of the minutes that we meet for during each meeting.
- General Team Member expectations
Team member attendance at the lab is expected. Team members are expected to do all pre-class and pre-lab activities before the period so that they can come and be ready to work. In lab and class periods, the expectations include trying to complete as much as much as possible then finish the rest at home.
Team member attendance to meetings is highly encouraged, but if a team member cannot attend, they are still expected to complete the tasks assigned. During team meetings, the same aspects apply in such that the team members should complete as much as possible in person then complete the rest individually.
To stay on task, a team member will be assigned with the role of time management, in which they oversee making sure the team stay on track. Although getting off task is fine, the main objective should be the priority.
Acceptable interactions in meetings and lab include hearing everyone’s ideas and opinions and being open-minded. Additionally, unacceptable behavior includes excluding someone, trashing ideas, and overall intending to be derogatory towards one another.
For all assignment, documents and pdfs should be shared with each team member by box, google, or other means.
For big assignments, the team should have their portion done by 5 days prior to the deadline in order to allow time for editing and final review. When team members are struggling with their task, they should alert the team right away so there can be time to help and still reach the deadline.
- Individual Team Member Responsibilities/Deadlines
Currently, the assigned roles are Annalese as reporter and note keeper, Ryan as time keeper, and Drew as team leader. As note keeper, Annalese is in charge of keeping team meeting notes every meeting and writing down any important ideas. Ryan, as time keeper, plans the meeting times and keeps everyone focused and on task during meetings to manage time efficiently. Drew, as team leader, leads the meetings by deciding what the team will be working on and also decides what everyone will be working on. The roles will rotate every third of a semester so that everyone will complete each role.
- Conflict Resolution
For all conflicts, the first step will be to hold a discussion between all team members to try and solve the issue. This includes not meeting expectations and/or behaving inappropriately, such as being disrespectful to other team members.
The first time a group member does not complete their part or has an issue, it will be discussed in the next meeting between all team members in a non-threatening straightforward manner. If a team member is consistently not completing their tasks (3 or more times) or continues to be disrespectful of others, the UTAs and GTA will be contacted and notified about the team members slack.
- Expectations of Faculty and GTAs
If a team member has already discussed with the team their problems, and those have not been resolved, they can approach the faculty and GTAs. However, the team is still responsible for completing all assignments by the deadline, and a problem within the team is not an excuse. The team member having issues can contact the GTA or faculty to help resolve any problems.
