Group H

Welcome to the team page for Division H of Koffolt Properties for Spring 2019.

Project

The role of Koffolt Propoerties (Group H) is to construct an Advanced Energy Vehicle for the Smart City Columbus initiative. It will be an autonomous, propeller driven, electric vehicle that that runs on a monorail system. The vehicle must travel along the track with elevation changes, as well as properly run between two loading docks and stop/start at a gate.  The vehicle will be able to obtain a caboose with a magnet and bring it back to its original loading dock. The purpose of an autonomous vehicle is to be safe, fast, reliable, and cost effective.

Approach

Our ultimate goal is to create an AEV that will help transport residents throughout the city of Columbus efficiently and reliably. Throughout this project, we will be using several technical programs and approaches in order to reach our end goal. We will be using a program called Arduino to program and control the AEV. We will also be using SolidWorks in order to develop and improve a prototype that will lead to our final design. We are testing many design features to aid with the safety, reliability and efficiency of the future vehicles.
