Meeting 27

Date: 4 – April – 2019

Time: 9:10-10:05

Members Present: Larenz Coles, Brittany Shine, Allan Thomas, & Tara Maynard

Location: Hitchcock 308

Objective:

Begin coding for the final performance test

Topics Discussed: Lab 19

  • The team decided to use the data of 545 marks with 40% power to get to the caboose
    • Slight adjustments were made on the number of marks with the new battery
  • Allan suggested using the same code for the way back up the track to the gate as performance test 1
    • Tara calculated the number of marks to mimic the first performance test with the correct marks on the track moving the opposite direction
    • The AEV was heavier so it was necessary to increase the power
    • The AEV took longer to brake with the caboose attached so the distance was decreased to allow the AEV more room to coast along the track without hitting the gate

To Do/Action Items:

  • Begin progress report 3 and final oral presentation poster (All – April 7)

Reflections:

  • The AEV code must be adjusted to account for the added weight of the caboose by adding distance to the number of marks and power to propel the AEV forward with more force
