  1. Team Goal

At minimum, the project will be complete, functional, and on time.  Our top goal is to exceed expectations on the project. Our expectations on quality level are that every member does their best work in every submission.

Frequency: Team will meet as many times as necessary to complete weekly assignments.

  1. General Team Member expectations

What are team member expectations regarding attendance?

  • Every member must come to scheduled meeting time on time and prepared, or member must communicate conflicts in advance.

How are team members expected to behave during lab/class periods?

  • Members are expected to be respectful to staff and peers, as well as willing to contribute to the team.

What are acceptable/unacceptable types of interaction?

  • Acceptable: Open-minded, respectful, hardworking
  • Unacceptable: Not open to suggestions, unwilling to work, unfocused

What are team members meant to do between classes?

  • The team will discuss what must be done at each meeting, and every member is expected to complete what they have been assigned by the time discussed.

Lab/class preparation?

  • Each member is expected to do preparation material assigned on Carmen

How are team members meant to ensure the team stays on track?

  • The team will not discuss topics outside of the assigned work within the scheduled meeting time

How are documents expected to be shared? (e.g. Buckeye Box?)

  • GoogleDrive, AEV team drive
  • E-mail
  • GroupMe

How many days before an assignment is due should everybody have their portion completed for review?

  • Members should have their assignment completed at least 24 hours before the due date so other members can review
  • More than 24 hours may be required for larger portions of the project

When should team members first notify the group if they are struggling?

  • Members should notify the team as soon as any problems occur once they have given full effort individually
  • The team can then discuss further action (ie. Additional meetings, attending office hours, etc.)

How often will these roles/task rotate?

  • At each meeting, members will discuss each members role and whether roles will rotate.  
  • Throughout the project, each member will have had experience doing each part of the project
  1. Conflict Resolution

Once the team goals, general member expectations, and individual team member responsibilities have been established, candid, non-threatening discussion must be held when the group or individuals are not meeting the agreed upon terms.

How will team members that are not meeting expectations (not contributing to the team effectively) be addressed?

  • The team will collectively talk to the member and address issues in a respectful discussion
  • If behavior is not changed in an appropriate time frame, a UTA or GTA will be asked to help appease the situation

How will team members that are not interacting appropriately with team members be addressed?

  • The team will collectively talk to the member and address issues in a respectful discussion
  • If behavior is not changed in an appropriate time frame, a UTA, GTA, or instructor will be asked to help appease the situation

When is it okay to redefine goals, expectations, and responsibilities?

  • Goals, expectations, and responsibilities can be changed at any time necessary as long as all members have come to an agreed conclusion

When will UTAs, GTAs, or the instructor become involved?

  • Instructors will only become involved if an agreement cannot be reached by members of the group through discussion

Suggested Statement: If a team member fails to live up to this agreement, the situation may be reported to the staff, but the team will still be responsible for submitting a completed assignment. Staff will be available to meet with teams to resolve issues.
