Objective:
Begin testing the braking distance/bursting power for aR&D 3.
Topics Discussed: Lab 17
- The team began by testing with 520 marks and 50% power
- This resulted in the AEV hitting the caboose too hard
- The power was adjusted until it could function properly with this amount of power at 520 marks
- The team decided it would be beneficial to increase the number of marks to decrease the amount of power necessary for the burst in order to decrease energy
To Do/Action Items:
- Continue gathering data for aR&D 3
Reflections:
- This data can be used to find the perfect combination between marks and power necessary to get to the caboose
- Going as far as possible decreases the amount of power necessary to burst the rest of the way to the caboose
