The focus of lab 1 was to familiarize the group with the materials used for the AEV design project and provide a way to familiar with the Arduino sketchbook code. The group did have some initial difficulties setting up the sketchbook and uploading the software to the Arduino but later discovered this was due to not selecting the correct COM port. The group then ran scenario one, which can be found in Progress Report 1 using the link below. An issue that the group noticed after running the scenario 1 program that may become an issue in the future is the slight delay between the propellers and the start of the motors. The propellers have a slight 1 – 2 second delay before beginning the program. This could be accounted for by fixing the equipment so the delay does not happen or modifying the code to account for the delay.
