The weekend: Do good for trees, the woods

Ohio State’s Time for Change Week ends with a working weekend aimed at doing good things for the land, for native plants, and for a special Ohio State woods.

On Saturday, April 6, Ohio State’s student chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration hosts a native tree and shrub planting from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fawcett Event Center. You can dig up details here. You can also help the students plant on April 13.

On Sunday, April 7, an event called Seeds of Service runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Ohio State’s Carmack Woods. “Earn $90 and service hours for your student organization by joining us for a morning of litter cleanup, tree planting, and invasive species removal,” the event listing says. “RSVP required to earn student org funds.” Breakfast is provided.
