The 2021 Virtual Ohio 4-H Conference

The 2021 Virtual Ohio 4-H Conference will bring together 4-H volunteers and teens (age 13 and older) from across Ohio. You can participate in a variety of educational sessions that offer something for everyone! Join us as we learn from one another to make the best better for Ohio 4-H programs.

Free Virtual sessions will start at 9:00 am on February 20 and 7:00 pm on February 23 & 25.

Camp Whitewood Needs Summer Staff!

Dear Whitewood Family,

It is that time of year again when camp is looking for new members to add to our summer staff. We are looking for individuals who would not only enjoy making a positive impact in children’s lives, but who also want to have a blast all summer long! If you or anyone you know might be interested in a position here at Camp Whitewood, please check out or pass on the following information.

Every year Camp serves hundreds of campers from various parts of Ohio, other states, or even other countries. We are able to serve these campers through engaging outdoor education lessons, a great sense of community, and respect for all. Our staff is able to foster many positive peer relations amongst campers. This is only possible with a great staff who focuses on encouraging, supporting, and mentoring campers throughout every week of the summer.

We are currently looking to hire around 16 new positions here at Camp Whitewood. These positions consist of the following:

  • Assistant Program Director
  • Day Camp Coordinator
  • Day Camp Staff
  • Wilderness Coordinator
  • Wilderness Staff
  • Shooting Sports Specialist
  • Boating Specialist
  • Lifeguards
  • Arts and Crafts Specialist
  • Outdoor Education Specialist
  • Cabin Counselors

A potential candidate possesses the ability to plan and implement a variety of outdoor lessons while maintaining flexibility, time management skills, and a positive, high energy attitude throughout each and every day. In addition, the candidate has great people skills and is able to uphold relationships with coworkers in order to create an enriching and safe environment for campers, families and other staff. Candidates must be 18 years of age.

Maria Lonneman – Ohio 4-H Teen Hall of Fame Inductee!

Congratulations to Maria Lonneman on being inducted into the Ohio 4-H Teen Hall of Fame with 3 other teens across the state!!

This is an extremely prestigious honor and we are very proud of you! The Ohio 4-H Teen Advisory Council members created this award in 2016 and recognizes outstanding teens each year. The awards presentation will be virtual this spring and the date is still being determined. Once we know more information, we will share for all to join and support Maria with the award!
