Healthy trees, healthy campuses

The Buckeyes take care of their buckeyes, and also their maples and oaks.

The Arbor Day Foundation has given Tree Campus USA honors to both the Ohio State Columbus campus and the CFAES Wooster campus. The recognition means that the campuses met core standards for keeping their trees healthy. Healthy trees in turn give benefits to people, air, and water.

CFAES leading the efforts

Tree Campus USA recognition must be earned annually, and at both campuses, faculty, staff, and students from CFAES help lead the efforts to earn it.

You can come see some of the fruits of those efforts (and the leaves, nuts, and branches as well) in CFAES’ two arboreta, the Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens in Columbus and Secrest Arboretum in Wooster. Learn more about them here and here.
