Watch out for yellow-legged hornet

The yellow-legged hornet – a fierce pollinator predator – was recently confirmed in Georgia. This is the first sighting of the hornet (Vespa velutina) in the United States.
While it has not been seen in Ohio, we ask the public to be our eyes and ears across the state for them.
How can you ID this particular hornet? It has yellow coloration on the fourth abdominal segment and bright yellow on the bottom half of the legs.
