Friday, April 26, is Arbor Day, and CFAES is hosting two celebrations of it, one in Columbus, one in Wooster.
For trees, tree people
The Columbus event, described as a celebration of trees and the people who plant and care for them, starts at 10 a.m. at the west entrance of Kottman Hall, 2021 Coffey Road, on Ohio State’s Columbus campus. The program features speaker Joe Blundo, columnist with the Columbus Dispatch, and the dedication of 32 new trees. CFAES’ Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens is the host. Admission is free and open to the public. Afterward, there will be free refreshments. Find out more.
At the CFAES Wooster campus, a tree planting ceremony is set for 3 p.m. on the lawn of the Student Activities Center at Ohio State ATI. Hosting the event is Ohio State ATI’s Horticulture Division. Admission is free and open to the public. Call 330-287-1243 for more information.
Both campuses recently earned Tree Campus USA honors, which the two events will celebrate as well.
