4-H Outpost How to Register: Please register using your club’s name. You can do this by creating an account with SignUpGenius. Select the shift your club would like to work then click Submit and Sign Up. On the next page, it will give you the option to display an alternate name. Just type your club’s name in the first name field, then click sign up now. Skillathon Practices Three dates have been scheduled for livestock skillathon practice sessions. The practice sessions will not be facilitated or guided but they will provide an opportunity for members to become familiar with the information and experience how the stations will be set-up during the skillathon contest. Individuals will be available to assist during the skillathon practice sessions but the sessions will not be facilitated. We ask that any member under the age of 16 be accompanied by a parent/guardian or club advisor. Below are the dates and times of the skillathon practice sessions. Date Time Location Tuesday, July 12 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Felicity High School Wednesday, July 13 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Felicity High School 4-H Dog Show General Project Judging Registration Pre-Judged General Projects Please bring Clothing and Textile projects to pre-judging, covered with a clear plastic bag (you can get these from a dry cleaner). Attach a 5” x 5” swatch of the fabric, a 4” x 6” index card with your first and last name, age, project title and club name as well as a photo of you in your garment to the outside of the bag. General Project Check-In/Check-Out 4-H Project Check-In will be Thursday, July 21 from 3-7 p.m. in the 4-H Hall. All projects must be checked-in during this time except clothing projects which will be checked-in immediately following the 4-H Style Revue on Saturday, July 23. Project Check-Out: 4-H projects will be release on Saturday, July 30 from 8p.m. -9 p.m. All projects must be removed from the 4-H Hall on Saturday evening. There will not be a project check-out held on Sunday as in previous years. Club Flower Container Contest The Club Banner Contest is being replaced this year with a flower container contest. Below are the rules: 1. Flower containers cannot be larger than 2’x2’x3’ 2. Clubs are responsible for watering and taking care of their flower displays throughout the week. 3. Containers may be made of any material as long as they meet the dimension requirements. 4. Live plants or flowers must be planted inside the container. It is recommended that packing peanuts or an empty milk jug be placed in the bottom of the container then filled with soil to reduce weight. 5. Containers must be easily moved. Containers will be displayed at the entryway of buildings and barns around the fairgrounds. 6. Flower containers should be the work of club members. 7. The club name must be visibly displayed on the flower container. 8. The fair theme should be incorporated into the overall design. 9. Flower containers must be turned in to the Extension Office between 3-7 p.m. Thursday, July 21. 10. Flower containers will be judged on originality/creativity, overall design and incorporation of the fair theme. Flower displays turned in late or that do not meet the dimension criteria will not be judged. 4-H Style Review and Winner’s Circle This year, the 4-H Style Revue will move back to its original day with Winners’ Circle! Any 4-H member taking a clothing project is invited to model at the 4-H Style Revue. The 4-H Style Revue will start promptly at 1 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Building followed by the Winners’ Circle Ceremony (approximately 2 p.m.). Please come dressed and ready to model your outfit. After the Style Revue, all clothing projects need to be checked-in in order to be displayed in the 4-H Hall during fair week. Battle of the Clubs Kickball Tournament |
