Clermont County Youth Represent Ohio at National 4-H Conference in Washington, DC

Ohio 4-H Teen Leadership Council members, Sarah Francis and Lillian Wildey, were selected as Ohio delegates to attend the National 4-H Conference in Washington, D.C.  National 4‑H Conference is the pinnacle experience in 4‑H Civic Engagement, providing the opportunity for young people to connect, learn, engage, lead and impact their communities, their nation and their world. Sarah and Lilly participated in hands-on activities to learn about civic engagement, civic education and personal development.  They attended roundtable meetings to discuss current issues, such as Ag Challenges and Youth Policy and developed briefings to present to government agencies related to their topic.

Throughout the week, Sarah and Lilly had the chance to explore our Nation’s Capitol and pay tribute to those that fought for our freedom. They also got to see the cherry blossoms in their peak blooms!  They visited Capitol Hill and had the chance to meet with some of our Ohio legislators including Senator Rob Portman and Representatives Jim Jordan, Bill Johnson, and Brad Wenstrup.

Sarah Francis is a member of Heritage Builders 4-H Club and Lillian Wildey is a member of Buckles and Boots 4-H Club.  Congratulations, Sarah and Lillian!  We’re proud to have you represent Ohio and Clermont County 4-H!
