The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and its research partners, which include Ohio State, are predicting that western Lake Erie will experience a significant harmful algal bloom this summer.
NOAA announced the forecast at a July 13 event and webinar co-hosted by Ohio State’s Ohio Sea Grant program. The event took place at Ohio State’s Stone Laboratory at Put-in-Bay on Lake Erie. CFAES Agronomic Systems Field Specialist Greg LaBarge was one of the speakers.
