How pseudoscience challenges our society

The monthly Wooster Science Café series continues at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, with “Anti-Science in a Post-Truth World” by Mark Wilson, geology professor at the College of Wooster.

Wilson, who is an invertebrate paleontologist and sedimentary geologist, will lead “a lively discussion about how pseudoscience challenges our society,” the event flyer says. He’ll use examples including “belief in Bigfoot and denial of human-influenced climate change” to explore the topic and propose solutions.

The event is in the Excelsior Room at Spoon Market & Deli, 144 Liberty St., in downtown Wooster. Admission is free and open to the public.

The series, which discusses current science topics, “all in plain English,” is organized by the College of Wooster and the CFAES Wooster Campus.
