Meeting Notes

Meeting 1:

Date: 01/16/18

Time: 5:30 PM

Place: Smith Steeb Sky Lounge

Attendees:

Carly Schwartz

Joey Kalic

Jakob Allen

Ella Struwing

Progress:

During this meeting we discussed generally when and where would be the best to meet. Since all of us have a lot of class during the day, Tuesday nights seem to work best for our group. 3/4 of us live on south campus so Joey said he would come to this side even though he lives on north. We created a group chat to stay up to date on work and make sure we are all on the same page. We have set general roles for ourselves :

Ella Struwing- Documentation, website updates

Carly Schwartz- website updates and secondary builder

Joey Kalic- programmer

Jakob Allen- Primary builder and designer

Meeting 2:

Date: 01/23/18

Time: 5:30 PM

Place: Smith Steeb Sky Lounge

Attendees:

Carly Schwartz

Joey Kalic

Jakob Allen

Ella Struwing

Progress: During this meeting we finished up working on the lab that we didn’t finish the week before. For the most part our meeting consisted of putting the demo AEV together and familiarizing ourselves with the parts.

Meeting 3:

Date: 02/03/18

Time: 2:00 PM

Place: 18th Avenue Library Cafe

Attendees:

Carly Schwartz

Joey Kalic

Jakob Allen

Ella Struwing

Progress: During this meeting, we looked at the concept scoring/screening data and decided what elements we wanted to include in our group sketch of the AEV. Once we figured out what materials would provide the most safety, stability, durability and minimal blockage, we drew our team sketch. Also, we talked about what we needed to send to ourselves from the computers in Hitchcock for the website and progress report. We divided up the roles accordingly and made sure everyone knew what they had to do in order to get this done on time.

Meeting 4:

Date: 02/13/18

Time: 5:20

Place: Park Stradley study room

Attendees:

Carly Schwartz

Joey Kalic

Jakob Allen

Ella Struwing

Progress: During this meeting we collaborated on what aspect of our AEV design could be changed to make it more efficient overall. After some thought, Jakob offered the idea that it would be beneficial for us to combine all three pieces of the base of our AEV into one piece and curve the front of it. This curved front would allow for our AEV to be more aerodynamic, basically like a plane. Also, combining the three pieces into one piece would make it lighter (since less nuts and bolts would be used), as well as more appealing to the eye, safer and more stable for the passengers that would board it.

Meeting 5:

Date: 02/20/18

Time: 5:20

Place: Park Stradley study room

Attendees:

Carly Schwartz

Joey Kalic

Jakob Allen

Ella Struwing

Progress: During this meeting we discussed areas of trouble that we encountered in lab the previous weeks. Because of the issues we also created a plan as to how we can retrieve at least some data in order to have viable research to present. Because of our lack of time and the fact that all of our data needed to be collected in just one lab period the following day, we limited the amount of trials for both the motor quantity and track comparison labs. We designated Carly as the tester, Joey as the code adjuster, Jakob as the builder/physical adjuster, and Ella as the documentor.

Meeting 6:

Date: 02/26/18

Time: 5:20

Place: Hitchcock 224

Attendees:

Carly Schwartz

Jakob Allen

Progress: At this point the team collected little to no data for the Track Comparison nor the Motor Quantity labs. In order to be able to present the R&D research we conducted, extra lab time was necessary. Amena allowed our team to come in on Tuesday evening to conduct whatever tests were necessary. Ella and Joey were unable to attend however Carly and Jakob completed a revised version of the track comparison test measuring and documenting only one test on each track, again, due to time limitations. No testing was conducted for the Motor Quantity lab.

Meeting 7:

Date: 02/27/18

Time: 4:00 PM

Place: Siebert Hall Study roon

Attendees:

Joey Kalic

Ella Struwing

Progress: During this meeting Joey and Ella completed the presentation for the R&D material that Carly and Jakob collected. After discussing the happenings in the weeks prior not only did the team members reflect on the data but also their intended plan for the Motor Quantity Lab. Joey and Ella created a google slide and shared it with Carly and Jakob which described every section that each team member would be responsible for presenting the following day.

Meeting 8:

Date: 3/20/2018

Meeting 9:

Date: 3/22/2018

Time: 7:00 PM
