Suggested Plan of Study

To graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Ohio State, students must meet the following key requirements:

Minimum Credit Hours:
Ohio State requires at least 120 total credit hours to graduate.
The HS program specifically requires 120 credit hours (excluding HTHRHSC 1100).

Must have a minimum 2.0 Ohio State GPA overall and in the major.

A graduation application must be submitted by the posted deadline. Instructions and the application are available on the HRS Academic Support Services Site.

Planning Tools and Information:
Use your degree audit regularly to track progress and ensure completion of all degree components, including:
General Education (GE)
Program Prerequisites
Professional Curriculum

Students must enroll in courses for the semester in which they are admitted; failure to do so will result in revocation of admission.

The plan below shows how a student can complete the Health Sciences (HS) program in eight (8) semesters. Students following this plan typically begin professional coursework in the autumn semester of their third year. However, course planning may vary based on individual needs. Students may complete the program on a part-time basis and can choose to take courses during summer terms, though course availability may change by semester. Many courses are offered both online and in person.

Students should reference their degree audit to understand the course and credit requirements and ensure they complete all required degree components, including general educationprogram prerequisites and corequisites, 12 core major courses, 12 credit hours of major elective courses, and a required Ohio State minor or for-credit certificate.

It is the student’s responsibility to meet regularly with an HS advisor to ensure all program requirements are met. Please note that completing HS coursework without formal admission to the program does not guarantee acceptance into the major or graduation with a degree. Students planning to transfer credits to Ohio State can explore how their courses can transfer by visiting Transferology.com.
