Orientation is the time when transfer students meet with Advisors to schedule courses for the upcoming academic term. Students are unable to schedule courses themselves prior to or after their scheduled Orientation session.
- Students who have not already received information about registering for an Orientation session should contact the Orientation Office as soon as possible.
- Students attending a University Orientation Session should plan to remain on campus from approximately 8am-3pm.
Students unable to attend any of the University Orientation sessions coordinated by the Orientation Office may contact the SHRS Student Services Office to schedule an individual appointment with an advisor (in person or over the phone) to discuss scheduling needs and enroll in courses; these appointments will only be scheduled for after the final University Orientation session has ended.
Important Steps to Take Before Attending Orientation
Please begin to check your OSU issued email as soon as you receive notification that your email is active. This is the only way SHRS advisors will communicate with you. If you do not look at or act on the advisor’s requests included in your OSU issued email, you may miss information that could delay your course registration at orientation.
Also, it is very important that you attend ALL orientation sessions and read all communications from the Orientation Office to make the most of orientation. Orientation is the prime time to ask questions and ensure that you are ready to begin the term!
