Cincinnati just suffered its worst Ohio River flooding since 1997. So the timing is unfortunately good for the next Environmental Professionals Network (EPN) breakfast program.
March 6 in Columbus
“Flooding: A National, State and Local Issue — We Are All Part of the Solution,” which will be held in conjunction with the Water Management Association of Ohio (WMAO), is set for Tuesday, March 6, from 7:15 to 11:45 a.m. in Ohio State’s Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, 2201 Fred Taylor Drive in Columbus.
The EPN part of the program ends at 9:35 a.m. The WMAO part continues to 11:45 a.m. Both parts are open to the public.
Experts on flooding
The program will feature three speakers, all experts on flooding issues and management:
- Chad Berginnis, Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), executive director of the Madison, Wisconsin-based Association of State Floodplain Managers.
- Cynthia J. Crecelius, CFM, principal of CC Consults of Westerville.
- Shawn Arden, Professional Engineer, CFM, associate with EMH&T of New Albany.
The program will have two Q&A panels. Craig Smith, WMAO’s board president and information officer with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s Division of Drinking and Ground Waters, will give opening comments.
How to register
Registration for the EPN part of the program only is $10. Registration for the entire program including both the EPN and WMAO parts is $35. Both options include breakfast. Both options are free for students. Find further details and links for registering online.
