Call for Entries: John Fergus Family Scholarship Application

Application Deadline: December 1, 2015 at 5:00PM

The John Fergus Family Scholarship is available to full time undergraduate (12 credit hours) and graduate students (8 credit hours) at The Ohio State University, with all fees paid in full for Autumn Semester of this year. Eligible students must be enrolled in a degree-granting, studio based major in the Departments of Art; Arts Administration, Education and Policy; History of Art; or Design. All undergraduate students must have passed the portfolio review for an Art BA or BFA or for a Design BSD; or have been formally accepted into the Art Education BAE, BA in Arts Management program; or declared an Art BA Major prior to Spring Semester of this academic year.

Finalists will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship applied to their student account for materials and will exhibit selected work in a group exhibition in January 2016 at Urban Arts Space. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit works that will not be, or have not been, exhibited in The Arts Initiative galleries, Urban Arts Space and Hopkins Hall Gallery. Selected work must be available for the exhibit on January 19 – 30, 2016. Inability to provide work selected for the exhibition could result in disqualification and your award being rescinded. Information regarding participation in the exhibition will be emailed to the student’s Ohio State email address after the selection process. Awards will be determined through a blind-review by a jury of faculty members from the Arts.

Your eligibility and adherence to these guidelines will be verified prior to adjudication. Make sure you carefully read and follow all guidelines and instructions. Submissions that do not adhere to each aspect of these guidelines, or are submitted after the deadline, will not be eligible. A list of award recipients will be posted once adjudication is complete.
