Along with all previous goals, please be prepared to play BT #9 at 156 bpm for this Wednesday’s sectional.

Also, start looking ahead and be prepared to play To Each Their Own at 164 bpm for our sectional on April 10th.

There will be no sectional on April 3rd.

  • BT 5: 166 bpm
  • BT 7: 144 bpm
  • BT 8: 180 bpm (all the way through)
  • BT 9: Be able to play all the way through.

Spring Sectionals

After a great 2018 season, we are preparing to being sectionals in preparation for the upcoming season!

Sectionals will begin Wednesday, February 13th, from 7pm to 9pm. We will plan to have sectionals every Wednesday, 7-9, until May 1st. Be sure to keep up with the website for any changes to this schedule.

For sectionals, please be prepared to bring the following items: Sticks/Mallets, a 3 ring binder with clear sleeves to put music in, and a print out of Buckeye Technique for your instrument if possible.

Location: Joan Zieg Steinbrenner Band Center – 1961 Tuttle Park Pl, Columbus, OH 43210

You will have to pay to park at the stadium. There are pay stations in the lot or you can park in the Tuttle garage beside the stadium.

All who plan to tryout for the Ohio State Drum line this upcoming season or future seasons are encourage to attend.

Summer Sessions: Schedule Update

The schedule for this weeks’ summer sessions will be extended do to our special guest, Ralph Nader. Please try to make it to all of these rehearsals if possible. The schedule will be as follows.

July 31st (Today): Starting at 4 for drum rehearsal.

August 1st: Starting at 1 for an extended afternoon rehearsal and dinner break, make sure to pack food for the break!

August 2nd: Start at our regular time at 5.

Summer Session: July 17th

We received 3 new exercises last night, Concussion, Bucks Beat 2.0, and Grooved Pavement. These will be uploaded as soon as possible. Along with Bucks Beat 2.0, make sure to check out the original Bucks Beat found in Music PDFs.

Summer Session: July 11th & 12th

During last weeks focus sessions, we reviewed all marching fundamentals to date and continued to work on exercises and school songs. Here are some tempos we hit.

  • Buckeye Technique 1: 221 bpm
  • Buckeye Technique 2: 202 bpm
  • Buckeye Technique 5: 176 bpm
  • Buckeye Technique 6: 142 bpm
  • Scramble: 176 bpm
  • Lie: Played along with song up to tempo

Make sure to look at It’s About Time and all other exercises we have worked on this summer!
