Fair Entries – Due June 1 for ALL PROJECTS!
If you plan to exhibit your animal or special interest project at the Madison County Fair this year, you must submit a Jr. Fair entry at the link below by Wednesday, June 1!
- *You must complete all requirements AND be a member in good standing to exhibit at the fair. This means completing Quality Assurance, Skillathon, other project requirements, club requirements, and following the 4-H Member Code of Conduct
The direct link to submit entries is: http://madisoncounty.fairentry.com/ All entries must be submitted by 11:59pm on June 1, 2022. Be sure to submit for your class AND showmanship! Sheep and goat exhibitors – for COUNTY TAG, list your scrapies tag number again as we do not have county tags in yet!
- *4-H Members MUST sign in through their 4-H online account (big green button!). If you forget your password or need assistance, contact the extension office or reset your password through 4-H Online directly. (FFA only and open class only people will need to make a fair entry account to register. If you show through both, you will sign in through Fair Entry ONLY!)

Livestock Skillathon – Sign Up by June 15 & Study Guides!
Skillathon takes place on June 21st and 29th. Families will sign up for times for youth needing to complete skillathon. Livestock Skillathons are required for the following projects in order to exhibit at the county fair: Beef, Dairy, Alpaca, Dog, Equine, Goat, Sheep, Poultry, Rabbit, and Swine Projects.

4-H Demonstration Day!
Join us for the 4-H Demonstration Day on Wednesday, June 15, starting at 10am to practice your public speaking skills and get a chance to compete for cash and awards, and represent Madison County at the State Fair Communication Day!

- Cloverbudswill be awarded for participation
- 1st place winners will be selected to represent Madison County at The Ohio State Fair Communication Day. Classes 1-6 will go to the State Fair on Thursday, August 4. Some State rules are different than Madison County rules.

Animal Specific Information

Project Books – Purchase the 4-H Project Record Book for your species/project and the Resource Handbook if applicable (available in our office for purchase or online at www.extensionpubs.osu.edu) (Livestock projects must purchase the 4-H project book for their first year)
- 2nd year livestock and beyond: (not equine, alpaca, dogs, or small animals) – utilize project book AND add record via the printable Livestock Project Record Book (will be checked for skillathon). You can print at home or pick up from our office for FREE

Cost: $40/Camper. Payment accepted: Credit Card (will be redirected to credit card payment automatically from registration). Checks can be accepted is necessary, but credit card payment is preferred.

Now more than ever it’s time for 4-H’ers to make the best better! While youth are at home and staying safe, we still want you to stay connected. Below are links to activities for youth and resources for volunteers. Check back frequently for additional links and program updates!
Ohio 4-H Capital Day – register for High School 4-H Members!
What is Ohio 4-H Capital Day?: This one-day event will give current high school students an opportunity to will join discussions covering current issues youth face, learn about advocacy, gain an understanding of the legislative process, and have the opportunity to meet with individuals involved with State Government.
When is Ohio 4-H Capital Day?: Join us in Columbus, our state capital, on Wednesday, June 15! Programming will begin at 9:00 AM and the day will conclude by 5:00 PM.
What is included in registration?: The day will include programming hosted at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, followed by a visit to the Ohio Statehouse, including a tour! Transportation for students will be provided from the 4-H Center to the Statehouse and back. Lunch will be provided to all attendees.
How can I register?: Registration is open through June 6! The cost is $10.00 to attend, which can be paid via credit card or by check – see these details in the online registration. Visit go.osu.edu/4Hcapital to get signed up!
