CFAES Sesquicentennial Student Planning and Engagement Committee, The students and staff of the CFAES pantry
To celebrate our CFAES sesquicentennial and this season of giving, we need your help to collect nonperishable food items and toiletry items for our on-campus pantry.

Columbus: From Monday, November 11^th to Friday, November 22^nd, we’re challenging you to participate in one of two ways: 1) individually by donating items in one of the boxes in the entryways of each CFAES building or 2.) through a student club (points reward for top donations). See the link below for more information. If you have any questions about the food drive please direct them to Sarah Williams(.4263).

If you or someone you know is interested in utilizing the items of the pantry, they can stop by Ag Admin room 250 or Kottman Hall 210 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and ask for access to the pantry. Everyone is encouraged to use the pantry. If you have any questions about the pantry please direct them to Emma Lynn Johnson(.7009).

Diversity, equity, and inclusion professional development workshops
The CFAES Office of Equity and Inclusion is pleased to announce that effective immediately all diversity, equity, and inclusion professional development workshops will be open to CFAES undergraduate students. Previously, workshops were available only to faculty, staff, and graduate students. The Office of Equity and Inclusion feels that this valuable resource should be available to all members of the CFAES community in order to create an inclusive environment where all people are valued and celebrated. Below is the schedule for the remaining fall workshops along with descriptions and registration links. Columbus workshops are held in the Eastman Room, 4-H Center and Wooster workshops in 126 Research Services. Lunch will be provided at all workshops.

December: Cultivating an Inclusive Environment: Recognizing and Responding to Implicit Bias (Register here)
This workshop will explore how identities, beliefs, and backgrounds shape our perceptions of other people in ways that can unconsciously and negatively impact our interactions with them. Participants will learn how to identify and empathetically respond to implicit bias in order to foster a more inclusive environment for everyone. Cap: 30 participants.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the University Special Scholarships Application and the CFAES Scholarship Application for the 2020-2021 academic year are now available.
What you need to do now:
File the FAFSA today at fafsa.gov or on the myStudentAid app. The 2020-2021 FAFSA requires income information from your 2018 tax returns. Learn more at fafsa.gov

CFAES Ambassadors are a team of undergraduate students selected to represent the college to prospective students and guests, alumni, and donors.

Experience OSU for a Day Hosts & Autumn Semester Schedules Needed!
Do you enjoy sharing your passion for Ohio State with others? Would you be willing to show high school students what it is like to be a Buckeye? The “Experience OSU for a Day” (EOFD) Program allows prospective students to get a feel for what college is really like. These students visit CFAES frequently, and we are in need of volunteers to show these students around campus when they come to visit. If you were a host last semester, we need your new schedule!

EOFD Hosts volunteer to have prospective high school students shadow them from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. for 1-2 weekdays each semester. Hosting is very flexible and can be adjusted to fit your schedule. Hosts are encouraged to take their shadow(s) to class, the Oval, the Union, a room in Nosker House, and to eat lunch at Parker Dairy Store (lunch is free for the host and shadow). Hosting is open to any CFAES student who has completed at least one semester of classes at the Columbus campus. To sign up, simply fill out this form and email it to Katie Share at share.9@osu.edu. The NC State Department of Agricultural & Human Sciences is seeking candidates for three doctoral-level assistantship positions starting Fall Semester 2020. Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional teaching records, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Positions provide tuition, stipend, and health insurance. All assistantships are anticipated to be three-years of funding and will lead to our new Ph.D.

POSITION 1 A teaching assistantship position is available with a focus on technology-delivered instruction. The successful candidate will be teaching a course focused on technology integration in agriculture and agricultural education. The successful candidate will have exceptional computer skills.

POSITION 2 A teaching assistantship position is available with a focus on teacher preparation. The successful candidate will be assisting with and teaching courses in the teacher preparation program.

POSITION 3 A teaching assistantship position is available with a focus on leadership education. The successful candidate will be assisting with and leading courses in the agricultural science program in both fall and spring semesters.

FAFSA Now Available for Next Year – Start Filling Out Now!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the University Special Scholarships Application and the CFAES Scholarship Application for the 2020-2021 academic year are now available.
What you need to do now:
File the FAFSA today at fafsa.gov or on the myStudentAid app. The 2020-2021 FAFSA requires income information from your 2018 tax returns. Learn more at fafsa.gov

• Follow the FAFSA prompts and use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to directly import tax return information into the FAFSA.

Make it a priority. The 2020-2021 Ohio State priority date for the FAFSA and the University Special Scholarships Application is February 1, 2020. The CFAES Scholarship Application priority date is February 15, 2020.

Ohio Soybean Council offers $44,000 in scholarships
The Ohio Soybean Council Foundation is offering $44,000 in scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students for the 2020-2021 academic year. Scholarships are available to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing studies related to the soybean industry and the field of agriculture. Since 2008, the OSCF scholarship program has awarded over $350,000 in scholarship funds to students studying agriculture or a related field at Ohio colleges or universities.This is the 13th year for the OSCF scholarship program, which was created to encourage undergraduate students to pursue degrees in one of the many academic fields that support the future of the soybean industry including agriculture, business, communication, economics, education, science, and technology, as well as to support ongoing graduate-level research.

2020 Young Leader Scholarship Program
The MACA Young Leader Scholarship Program (MACA YLSP) is designed to expose future agriculturalists to the crop protection industry and future career opportunities.  Recipients will benefit from exposure and networking with MACA members for potential job opportunities as well as financial compensation.

Candidates will be top-potential collegiate sophomores or juniors with an educational focus on agriculture.  Candidates must have secured a summer internship (2020) within agriculture, preferably within the crop protection industry.  Additionally, the selected recipient is expected to attend the MACA Annual Meeting September 8-10, 2020 in St. Louis, MO to participate and network with MACA members and to develop a deeper understanding of the crop protection industry. Due January 10, 2020. Apply online at http://www.maca.org/young-leader-scholarship-program/#form.
