CFAES Sesquicentennial Student Planning and Engagement Committee, The students and staff of the CFAES pantry
To celebrate our CFAES sesquicentennial and this season of giving, we need your help to collect nonperishable food items and toiletry items for our on-campus pantry.

Columbus: From Monday, November 11th to Friday, November 22nd, we’re challenging you to participate in one of two ways: 1) individually by donating items in one of the boxes in the entryways of each CFAES building or 2.) through a student club (points reward for top donations). See the link below for more information. If you have any questions about the food drive please direct them to Sarah Williams(.4263).

If you or someone you know is interested in utilizing the items of the pantry, they can stop by Ag Admin room 250 or Kottman Hall 210 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and ask for access to the pantry. Everyone is encouraged to use the pantry. If you have any questions about the pantry please direct them to Emma Lynn Johnson(.7009).

Wooster: To participate, all that we ask is for you to drop off your donations at Student Success Services (located in Skou Hall on the ATI Campus) on the following dates and times: November 13-20, 11:30AM-12:30PM; November 14, 11:30AM-5:00PM; November 21, 12:30PM-5:00PM; and during Clubsgiving, November 22, 11:30AM-12:30PM and 2:00-4:00PM. If you have any questions about the food drive please direct them to Nicole McMullen(.141).

Diversity, equity, and inclusion professional development workshops
The CFAES Office of Equity and Inclusion is pleased to announce that effective immediately all diversity, equity, and inclusion professional development workshops will be open to CFAES undergraduate students. Previously, workshops were available only to faculty, staff, and graduate students. The Office of Equity and Inclusion feels that this valuable resource should be available to all members of the CFAES community in order to create an inclusive environment where all people are valued and celebrated. Below is the schedule for the remaining fall workshops along with descriptions and registration links. Columbus workshops are held in the Eastman Room, 4-H Center and Wooster workshops in 126 Research Services. Lunch will be provided at all workshops.

December: Cultivating an Inclusive Environment: Recognizing and Responding to Implicit Bias (Register here)
This workshop will explore how identities, beliefs, and backgrounds shape our perceptions of other people in ways that can unconsciously and negatively impact our interactions with them. Participants will learn how to identify and empathetically respond to implicit bias in order to foster a more inclusive environment for everyone. Cap: 30 participants.

University of Georgia – Doctoral Graduate Research Associate Position – Impact Evaluation Unit
The University of Georgia, Impact Evaluation Unit ( is seeking applicants for Graduate Research Associate positions at the doctoral level starting August, 2020. Graduate associates will work in the Impact Evaluation Unit to conduct evaluation research campus-wide. The University of Georgia is a comprehensive R1 institution composed of 17 schools and colleges set in Athens, GA.

Auburn University – Agriscience Education Faculty Position

West Virginia University – Teaching Assistant Professor
The School of Design and Community Development, in West Virginia University’s Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design (, Morgantown, WV, is pleased to invite applications for a non-tenure-track Teaching Assistant Professor in the Agricultural & Extension Education program. The position will focus on agricultural teacher education and will commence on May 15th, 2020. Candidates must meet standard eligibility requirements to work in the United States and have demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Now Open – College Scholarship Application for the 2020-2021 academic year – Priority Deadline: February 15, 2020
All students in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences are encouraged to fill out the College Scholarship Application for the 2020-21 academic year.

You will only need to fill out one application to be eligible for scholarships from the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, School of Environment and Natural Resources, and ATI/Wooster. The priority deadline for completing the application is February 15, 2020.

The simple on-line form requires you to write a short 300 word essay, list of present and previous work experience, involvement in extracurricular activities, provide details about involvement in groups. Students in the School of Environment and Natural Resources will only need to complete this application for 2020-21 as the supplemental questions are within this application. Applicants who have participated in 4-H regardless of University/College, Campus, or major are to complete this application and the additional supplemental questions when you check “Yes” on the involvement in 4-H.

FAFSA Now Available for Next Year – Start Filling Out Now!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the University Special Scholarships Application and the CFAES Scholarship Application for the 2020-2021 academic year are now available.
What you need to do now:
File the FAFSA today at or on the myStudentAid app. The 2020-2021 FAFSA requires income information from your 2018 tax returns. Learn more at

Make it a priority. The 2020-2021 Ohio State priority date for the FAFSA and the University Special Scholarships Application is February 1, 2020. The CFAES Scholarship Application priority date is February 15, 2020.
