The Ohio State University College of Medicine is now accepting abstracts for the 2026 Annual Education Symposium. We want to hear about your innovative educational research and teaching strategies for preparing tomorrow’s health professionals. This symposium is in partnership with The Ohio State University College of Medicine, the Office of Curriculum & Scholarship, and the Center for Faculty Advancement, Mentoring, and Engagement (FAME). Submissions may be considered for oral presentation, poster presentation, or both.
Requirements
Proposals should be relevant to health professions education; however, proposals that address one of the key topics below will be prioritized. Please note that submissions related to Personal Health Information (PHI) will not be accepted. Abstracts must be 250 words or less (excluding references).
Submissions must include the following information:
- Title of Submission
- Author(s)
- Background/Significance of the Problem
- Purpose
- Process/Methodology
- Findings/Results
- Conclusions: Outcomes and Future Directions
- References (excluded from word count)
Key Topics
- Implementing artificial intelligence – Integrating ethical, practical, and effective strategies for using artificial intelligence to enhance learning and improve educational and clinical outcomes.
- Teaching innovations – Advancing medical education and clinical learning environments through innovative, evidence-based teaching approaches that transform learner engagement and skill development with novel strategies, including immersive, hands-on modalities.
- Medical education research – Investigating the role of research in medical education to generate evidence for improvement, support effective teaching and learning practices, and guide the implementation of scholarly findings into education environments.
- Trainee advancement – Supporting trainee development in medical education by fostering competency achievement, professional and interpersonal skills, and interprofessional collaboration beyond the formal curriculum.
How to Submit
Please fill out the 2026 AES Abstract Submission Form by 11:59 pm on Friday, October 17, 2025. You will be asked to attach your abstract as a Word document at the end of the form.
Acceptance announcements will be sent mid-November.
The 2026 Annual Education Symposium will be held Wednesday. January 28, 2026. For more information, visit the AES webpage.
