As we curate the beetle collection we are building a photographic record of the various elements of the project, from specimens, to the materials and equipment we use, to the hands-on curatorial process itself.

Then and now – a look at the beetle drawers are they were before recuration.
From cork to foam – the steps involved in the removal of the specimens from cork-lined trays and storage in new foam-lined trays.
Photographing beetles –
Tiger beetles in pics – we are photographing all the specimens (+ labels) from the Schultz tiger beetle collection. The images are being uploaded to Notes from Nature in a collaboration to get the specimen records quickly and effectively transcribed. Specimen records will be added to our database and made freely available online.
