  • Did you have a Special Interest Project? Were you not able to make it to Project Judging?
  • Be aware of your specie-specific Weights Requirements! Review these weights and be sure check your animal now that we’re in the homestretch!
  • Drug Use Notification Forms (DUNF)
    • Is now a fully ONLINE submission! Preferred practice is to submit this documentation the WEEK of Move-in Day! All MARKET Livestock Entries will receive a REMINDER link on MONDAY AUGUST 8th, so keep a look out! Or scan the QR code to complete the form now.
  • North Gate Passes
    • All Livestock members have been place on the North Gate Pass list. If you indeed need a North Gate Pass, please visit the Senior Fair Board Office at the Henry County Fairgrounds

  • This year’s Junior Fair Board has TWO EXCITING opportunities for our exhibitors this year:

    • “FIGHT HUNGER – STOCK THE TRAILER”
      • The Henry County Junior Fair Board is competing with other fairs in Ohio to raise the most canned-food/pantry items in an effort to win $5000!
      • Each of our Livestock Barns will have crate in which to bring your items! All items raised will be dispersed throughout the county to local food pantries!

      • This year, our board wanted to provide an excellent opportunity to have a professional photographer come to the fair to capture these precious moments of our exhibitors.

4-H Advisory Council Fall Mum Sale

2022 FALL MUM ORDER FORM

The Henry County 4-H Advisory Council is holding a Fall Mum Sale.

We ask to you to complete the online order form for Pre-orders.

Mums will be available for pick up on September 4, 2022.

***ALL ORDERS WILL BE DUE BY FRIDAY AUGUST 26TH!***

  • 9″ Pots – $8.00 each
    • Bronze, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, White, Yellow
  • 12″ Pots – $15.00 each
    • Orange, Pink, Purple, Multi-Color, White, Yellow
  • 13″ Basket – $15.00 each
    • Pink, Sundance Yellow, Red Hots, Yellow Tang, Venus Purple

We’re seeking out….

For the train enthusiasts we have in our program….
In the depot at the fair is a display of farming and/or construction implements and tractors. There is room for 4-H or FFA members to do part of the display cases. Here’s some information if you have interest.The suggested sizes are 1/64, 1/50, 1/32 scale.  Create a theme for your area or just display in your area, in a display case provided in the Depot.
If you have any interest, send a note to Patrick Schulze’s email by August 5th. patrickschulze4020@yahoo.com  Patrick is in charge of the display area.
Include in your email name, contact, sizes and items to be displayed.Arrive with your items at the Depot by 9am on Wednesday morning before fair.  Please make a list of your items and leave with Patrick.  Arrangements can made if needed for other times.
Create a sign tent that states  –  Display made by:FYI, the door is locked nightly.  The area is not manned 100% of the time.  The cabinets close from behind but do not lock.

Thank you to everyone that made our Livestock Skillathons & Project Judging Day an absolute success! Our judges were thoroughly impressed with the caliber of exhibitors they encountered this week, so be sure to give yourselves a round of applause!

On Monday we will have our Project Winners & State Fair Participants finalized – All families will receive an email as soon as results are posted. Keep in mind if you are eligible to go to the Ohio State Fair as a participant, we have limited tickets available and it is first, come, first, serve with the tickets we do have. Congratulations are in order for one of our Senior 4-H’ers, Kalleigh Fry! Kalleigh was selected as the Ohio 4-H Goat Achievement Award Winner. Kalleigh Fry, 18, is a 13 year 4-H member from Henry County. Throughout her time as a 4-H member, Kalleigh has taken various still projects and heavily focused on a variety of goat projects. Kalleigh is the proud daughter of Stephen and Charla Fry from Archbold, Ohio and is a senior at Archbold High School. Next fall, she will be attending The Ohio State University- ATI to major in agribusiness.

Project Judging Starts Next Week!

We’re excited to see all of your smiling faces again to join us for our 2022 Livestock Skillathons & Project Judging Interviews!

Here are some tips & tricks to help you prepare!

  • Review your Project Date & Time! – Here is the 2022 Schedule
  • Livestock Skillathon Exhibitors – Please come dressed in your “Show Clothes” – If you’re not sure what those are, please review your Specie’s SHOW RULES in the Henry County Handbook
  • Project Judging Interview – I recommend “Church Clothes.” Think of this as a interview and dress to impress the judge/s.
  • Speaking of the handbook… REVIEW YOUR HENRY COUNTY HANDBOOK to make sure you have completed your project requirements as outlined in the handbook!
  • Livestock Skillathon Exhibitors – STUDY! Head over to the Livestock Skillathon & Project Judging Tab to find Senior Member Articles & Study Guide Packets! (No we are not open on Saturday for you to come & review the kits)

What else is new???

  • Join the Henry County Horse Council for the “State Fair Send-Off” – The horse program’s 16 Qualifiers will begin to leave for the Ohio State Fair Junior Horse Show on Sunday July 17. Join us for the Free-Will Donation, Food, Fun & Fellowship at the Henry County AgHall from 7:00am – 12:00pm (Or until supplies run out!)
