You get your updates a bit early this week because tomorrow is May 1 & then I’m out of the office for a few days!

ROYALTY APPLICATIONS=

  • DEADLINE IS MAY 1 (TOMORROW)

  • The Henry County 4-H Advisory Council is sponsoring banners for all seniors this year! (a $50 value per child) and there are 45 SENIORS (wowza!). These banners will hang in various locations around the Henry County Fair highlighting our awesome seniors!

CAMPS=

  • 4-H Camp Registration will open at 10am TOMORROW
  • There will be another 4-HOnline email that will come out letting you know it’s open!
  • Camp cost per child starts at $200 & goes up from there based on add-ons such as t-shirts & activities
  • 4-H Camp Scholarships
  • Deadline is May 15 – Submit application to the office or email Morgan
  • Cloverbud Camp is currently OPEN!

MORGAN=

  • I’ll be out of the office May 4-8 – I’ll be back in on Tuesday May 9th.
  • If you have immediate questions, connect with Emily Cordes Monday thru Friday from 8:30a-3:30p
  • If you will be stopping up after 3:30, be sure to touch base with Emily before just popping up!

ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT CAMP???

4-H Camp is the one program I know most of our 4-H’ers look forward to EVERY YEAR. 

Our 4-H Camp Counselors and Camp Staff have been working to bring a exciting and fun camp experience to you this year!

The information included in this packet will help you familiarize yourself with what to expect when signing up for camp this year. Our office thought this packet would be a great tool to help guide the decision making process when the registration link opens!

Our 2024 Henry County 4-H Camp Registration will go live on MAY 1! (took a bit longer to get online payments connected)

Be on the lookout for the “Camp Registration is Open!” email on that day!

In the meantime, I encourage families to review the 2024 Henry County 4-H Information Packet and get hyped for this year’s Henry County 4-H Camp!

There was an email that went out earlier this week outlining quite a few new and reminder  “things” to our families. So if you didn’t check your email or you need a refresher, here you go! (I’m will likely have another big update next week to, so be sure to keep a lookout!)

  • Market Hog Tags – the request form is LIVE! Market hog exhibitors have until June 1 to place their orders & pick up their tags at the office. YOUR TAG MUST BE PLACED IN THE ANIMAL’S EAR WHEN ARRIVING AT FAIR – if it is not, you will be asked to load the animal in the trailer & will not be permitted to exhibit. If you do not feel comfortable placing the tag – please reach out, our Jr Fair Swine Department would be happy to make an appointment to come to your farm and help you!
  • 4-H Advisory Council Fundraisers
    • The 4-H Shop for t-shirts, hoodies & hats will close on MONDAY! You can order through the online shop & drop a payment off at the office, you can venmo or if you prefer printing off an order form & turn it in at the office, we’ll accept that as well!
    • Mother’s Day Flower Fundraiser at Jeffer’s Greenhouse
      • Visit Jeffer’s Greenhouse in Grand Rapids on SUNDAY MAY 5 and mention Henry Co. 4-H Advisory Council! A Portion of the day’s sales will come back to the Advisory Council to help with year-end awards this year.
      • Feel free to share this flyer with your friends! 
  • 4-H & Jr Fair Royalty Application is now LIVE!
  • Communication & Expressive Arts Contest
    • 2024 Information is posted
    • Consider creating a Virtual Demonstration (DemonstrationTok) on a topic of your choosing!
      • If that sounds cool – complete the preregistration form no later than May 1 so we can touch base with you!
