Junior Fair Update #4

Greetings 4-H Families!

I have a new update for the 2024 Henry County Junior Fair – this update has changed over the last few weeks, but it has now been officially finalized! There is a handy checklist included in this update for families to “check all the boxes” as we enter the summer season!

I plan to have an update video prepared tomorrow to walk through the initial plan for fair (this document) as well as to share some upcoming insights that the Henry County Ag Improvement Association, Henry County Agricultural Society (Senior Fair Board), and County Commissioners plan to release to the general public.

Please know that I have been involved in 95% of these discussions as to what fair will look like for our Junior Fair Families – part of why this plan has changed so many times is that I (along with members of all of these entities) felt very passionately that we needed to prioritize having a quality Junior Fair Program for 2024 instead of rushing to begin building the new Event Center.

As always, I am happy to field any JUNIOR FAIR questions – any questions beyond the Junior Fair scope will be passed along to the Senior Fair Board. We will have an additional update MUCH closer to fair reviewing traffic flow, placement of parking and facility usage. PLEASE take time to review this document, there are feedback questions we are asking families to respond to.

DOG PROJECT UPDATES

Greetings 4-H Dog Project Families!

My apologies this was not sent out sooner – I’ve been trying to keep all aspects of the Junior Fair up to date & this fell off my radar!

The 2024 Dog Project Member Packet is now LIVE, it can be found on the Dog Resource’s Page.

Keep in mind, we now have a Dog Resources Page on the blog site as well! You are always welcome to refer to any of the information provided there!

There will be a Dog Project Informational meeting on May 14, 2024 at 6:00pm at the Ag Hall Building. All Dog Project exhibitors are encouraged to attend!

Katie Reimund is joining us as the Dog Program Coordinator again this year, she will also be assisted by Stacey Weasel, 4-H Volunteer. At their request, I have created a “Remind” group to communicate any cancellations or modifications for those evening workshops. Katie & Stacey coordinate and organize evening workshops for members to practice with their dogs – this information is all included in the Dog Member Packet.

As always, please reach out to me with any questions! If I can’t answer them, Katie is an excellent resource to reach out to as well!
