Thank you Club Officers!

We had an excellent turn out for our first Officer Training this week on Tuesday! We had a total of 83 kids participate. I’d like to thank Abby Readshaw of Patrick Henry High School FFA for coming in to teach parliamentary procedure to our officers, they also had some great “Real Life” learning activities to help grow them as Club Officers.

Enrollment for 2022 is in!

We are super excited to close out our 2022 Henry County 4-H Enrollment… we have some updated numbers to share with all of you! We had… 121 Volunteers enroll within our program, 159 Cloverbuds [Wow!], and 637 Club Members! Our highest enrolled Special Interest project was “Get Started in Art” and our highest enrolled Livestock Project was Market Hogs.  Keep in mind, any changes to projects need to be completed NO LATER than APRIL 1. After April 1, we cannot make changes to your projects.

On Thursday we had our “New to 4-H” meeting and we had a great turn out with 14 kids attending (with their parents). We had mostly first year club members, with 1 or 2 second or third year members. We reviewed how to understand project book/s, how to use our Henry County 4-H Handbook to guide you through the project and the program, important events, and what Livestock Skillathons and Project Judging will entail; then how Parents can help kids complete their projects, where to go to study information, and important contacts and all of the ways we communicate 4-H program information and updates. I am happy to share this information with anyone looking for guidance – I am happy to record the presentation as well, if you are interested in this information, please reach out to me directly at: parcher.6@osu.edu.

There are new menu options on the Blog to the left, Registration Flyers & Community Service Opportunities – Check this information out, see if your clubs can use it! All QA information is also listed under Registration Flyers! I’ll continue to add information as we progress through the year!

Still want to take advantage of a ZOOM Quality Assurance? The LAST Zoom QA will take place on April 7 – PLEASE NOTE… Pre-registration needs to be completed 2 DAYS prior to the event! If you’re not sure if you can attend, we would prefer you to register & simply not show up! Please contact me with further questions – Registration flyer for that event is: 2022 NWO QA Opportunities

Litter Round Up – Community Service Opportunity

As in past years, the Henry County Landfill will be taking registrations throughout the month of March, and the actual pickup can be done any time during the month of April.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate, and we will have a lot of participation!  The groups may participate for community service, as a fundraiser, or both. Groups that participate for fundraising purposes will be paired with a sponsor, and I have attached a sponsor form in case any of the groups already have a sponsor in mind.

Please let me know if anyone has questions, and thank you so much for your help!
