Ag Tech Tuesday eFields Results Webinars

WEBINAR ALERT!!! On Tuesday February 1st and 8th 9-10am over Zoom. If you have been following all of the 2021 eFields reports these zooms are going to go more in depth about the results. Brown County’s very own James Morris will be presenting during this on the results from Brown County and how those results contributed to the overall reports. In addition to learning about Brown County’s results attendees will also learn of the highlights from the 249 trials, 45 counties and over 5,000 acres. THIS IS FREE TO ATTEND. Agricultural Fertilizer 3 hour Certification Training

TRAINING ALERT! On February 15, 2022 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at the OSU Extension Office in Fayette County, 1415 US Highway 22 SW, Washington C.H., OH 43160 will be the Agricultural Fertilizer Training. This training is for private and commercial applicators. If you are wanting to apply any fertilizer other than manure to more than 50 acres of agricultural production grown primarily for sale. This training is for you!! This training will cover the best management practices such as the best timing appropriate rate, the best placement and source. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED along with a fee of  $30. The payment can be dropped off at the Fayette County Extension Office prior to the event or you can bring payment to the training. 2022 Tobacco Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) Training

Do you need to renew your GAP Training? This is your chance! On March 31, 2022 from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Raines Farm and Greenhouse at 2667 Nichols Ridge Road, Seaman, OH 45679. There will be an in person meeting with Dr. Bob Pearce with the University of Kentucky will be speaking. If participants stay for the full 2 hour meeting those participants will receive their 2022 Annual GAP Training credit. There is no cost to this event but, PRE-REGISTRATION is REQUIRED! Are you a crop producer? Do you want to stay in the know about weed control for your cropping operations? Then Weed University is for you! Weed University is a program designed to keep agronomic producers on the cutting edge in weed control for their cropping operations. Topics addressed will include hot topics in weed control, local weed issues, biology and identification of weeds, control strategies, cover crop management in forages, and evaluating herbicides. Hands-on exercises will be included. Featured speakers will include Dr. Mark Loux and Alyssa Essman from The Ohio State University. The registration fee per person is $40 and is due by January 28, 2022. This fee includes lunch and course materials. Pesticide and Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) credits will be available. Forages for Horses Webinar Series

The Forages for Horses Webinar Series will be 3 90 minute webinars beginning on January 20, 2022, continued on February 17, 2022 and concluding on March 17, 2022 all beginning at 7:00pm. The webinars will cover the topics of Hay Analysis and Feeding Different Classes of Horses, Nutrition and Parasites, and Pasture and Weed Management, Soil Fertility, and Species Selection. There is a $75 registration fee that will give participants access to the webinars, resources, a choice of a curriculum binder or USB drive of the traditional course through the mail. In addition to resources previously listed participants will also receive a digital copy of the Forages for Horses Manual, a physical copy can be obtained as well.
