4-H Graduation Cords Available

4-H Graduation Honor Cords are once again available for seniors to purchase.  These green and white cords will proudly proclaim seniors’ long-time active involvement in the Adams County 4-H Program and their local 4-H club.

The cords, pictured here, are available from OSU Extension Adams County. To order yours, please drop off a check, payable to OSU Extension Adams County, in the amount of $15.00, on or before Thursday, April 15. We will place the order with National 4-H Supply, and let you know when you can stop in to pick up your cords. Of course, purchasing and wearing the cords is optional. We will provide all area high schools with a list of all our graduating seniors.

4-H Enrollment Reopening Through April 1

Covid-19 has made everything a little bit harder, including 4-H enrollment/recruitment. With that in mind we have decided to reopen our 4-H enrollment through April 1, 2021. This is a last chance to join the program in 2021 and be eligible for fair exhibition, awards, and recognition.

Visit https://oh.4honline.com to enroll. Families enrolling during this “last chance” enrollment are responsible for contacting the Extension Office to complete any required paperwork including livestock exhibitor forms, poultry orders, horse permission to participate, book orders, etc.

Members enrolling between now and April 1 will be required to pay the $22 county assessment fee and will not have the option to sell candy.  Please make checks payable to the Adams County 4-H Advisory Committee.  Members enrolling now will also not be able to choose a market turkey project as those animals are already ordered and distributed.

A few clubs have let us know they are at their maximum capacity for 2021 but there are many others to choose from.  Please reach out to the head advisor listed to let them know you plan to enroll so they can add you to their communications.

Please stop in the office or contact us at 937-544-2339 for assistance.

Virtual Livestock Clinic Option

Adams and Scioto County 4-H are hosting a VIRTUAL Livestock Clinic on Saturday, April 10.  You may have seen this date advertised as an in-person QA date.  Adams County 4-Her’s do have the option to attend this livestock clinic in-person at the fairgrounds.  It will also be offered virtually across Ohio.  Pre-registration is required for either attendance option.

  • To attend in-person (Adams County members ONLY) – log on to go.osu.edu/21QA and choose the April 10 in-person session.
  • To attend virtually via Zoom (Open to anyone) – log on to go.osu.edu/livestockclinic to register.

If you are registering multiple members for the in-person session only you will need to complete a separate registration for each person attending.

In order to receive credit for Quality Assurance you must participate in the entire session.  In-person attendance is limited to less than 50 members.  If completing QA online is not a viable option for your youth, please be sure to register for an in-person session before they fill up.  Once you have registered for a session, please do your best to attend that session.

If you have questions about the Virtual Livestock Clinic or Quality Assurance, please contact Kristy at watters.92@osu.edu.
