Sensor Information
The sensors used on the AEV use the reflectance of light from the reflective tape on the wheel opposite of them to record the amount of distance the vehicle has traveled. This sensory input is extremely crucial to the preliminary development, along with the rest, of the project. It allows for the programming of the audrino to ensure precise and calculated movements of the AEV on the track being used in testing. Specifically, it acts as a trigger that terminates a previous part of the program and initiates the subsequent part. This is used to change the rate of acceleration or deceleration, in addition to controlling the braking and changing of directions.
