Citizenship Washington Focus Application – Deadline September 30
The State 4-H Office recently announced changes to the Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) event. Rather than be a standalone summer event, CWF will be a track in the Ignite by 4-H National Summit, held March 25-29 in Washington D.C. Because of the change in timing, CWF selection will take place separately from our other state trips & camps opportunities.
Teens ages 14 and up are invited to apply for a full scholarship from the 4-H Committee to attend CWF in 2026.
Event Description
Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) empowers 4-H aged teens between 14 and 18 to become informed and engaged citizens, while also offering expanded opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and inspiration alongside 4-Her’s from across the country. Teens travel by bus with others from Ohio.
4-Hers will explore their passions, strengthen their leadership, and deepen their understanding of civic life. While in D.C. delegates will:
- Spend a day on Capitol Hill
- Delegates will engage with their representatives
- Enjoy guided tours of Washington D.C.
- Explore career opportunities
- Build connections with peers
- Explore new opportunities for growth
- Attend Immersive workshops & sessions
Apply by September 30!
Ignite by 4-H National Summit – Application Deadline September 19
Ignite by 4-H is a national summit designed to bring high school youth (between 14-18) together from across the country and give them the opportunity to explore the best 4-H has to offer in different tracks including Agriscience, Animal Science, Community Accelerators, Healthy Living and STEM. A hallmark of Ignite is the Lead to Change campaign which empowers youth to be Agents of Change where you (as a delegation) will create and present a proposal to address issues within your community. The best proposals are then awarded funding for implementation. In 2026, Ignite by 4-H returns for youth to attend in-person in Washington D. C. during March 25-29, 2026.
Who: High School Aged Teens (14-18) interested in Agriscience, Animal Science, Community Accelerators, Healthy Living and STEM
Where: Washington, DC (Washington Hilton – 1919 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC)
When: Wednesday, March 25th – Sunday, March 29th
Application: Apply online at go.osu.edu/4Hignite by September 19th at 8:59pm
Cost: Selected delegates will have summit registration and travel expenses covered
