Muskingum County Cattlemen’s Association 4-H Camp Grant – Due July 31

The Muskingum County Cattlemen’s Association Board of Directors is pleased to announce that we will be offering 4-H Camp Ohio grants for 4-Hers enrolled as Beef exhibitors for the 2024 Muskingum County Fair. The grants will be reimbursement for camp fees and will be paid directly to the family. We are offering a maximum of 10 $100 grants.

We will be verifying that you attended 4-H Camp Ohio in 2024 and that you are enrolled as a beef exhibitor for 2024 with the Muskingum County Extension Office.

The requirements are as follows:

Muskingum County Cattlemen’s Scholarship Application – Due July 31

MCCA will once again be awarding scholarships to deserving youth who take beef projects in 4-H or FFA in Muskingum County. Please review the requirements and apply by July 31st for consideration.

These scholarships are intended for 4-H and FFA members who are currently taking beef cattle projects in Muskingum County. $2,000 total funds are available. Awards will be distributed to a maximum of 4 applicants at $500 per applicant by the Muskingum County Cattlemen’s Association.

The applicant must:
1. Be a resident of Muskingum County or have attended a school in Muskingum County.
2. Be currently a member of a 4-H Club or FFA Chapter in Muskingum County.
3. Be currently taking a market steer, beef breeding, or feeder calf project in 4-H or FFA.
4. Be a high school graduate.
5. Be either planning to enroll in Fall 2024 or currently enrolled in an accredited four year or two year
college or technical institute.
6. Complete and submit the application by July 31, 2024.

Junior Fair Market Rabbit Registration – July 18, 6-8 p.m.

Market Rabbit Registration is scheduled for July 18 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Rabbit Barn at the fairgrounds. There is no paperwork for youth to complete and bring with them to registration. Exhibitors will be responsible for completing the online entry process using the appropriate tattoos by July 23. Back-up rabbits must be tattooed and registered by the deadline.   • Note: Exhibitors entering a Pen of Three Fryers will add all animals to the same entry – the entry form will require 6 market rabbits to be entered. If you have less than six rabbits to register, add additional rabbits with a tattoo of 0.

Members must have registered a breeding rabbit by the June 30 deadline to be eligible. All market rabbits must attend Market Rabbit Registration to be tattooed and registered, no exceptions! Back-up rabbits must be tattooed and registered by the deadline.
