4-H SPARK EXPO is…

  • three days and two nights of fun and learning.
  • a chance for youth to develop valuable skills, make new friends, and fuel individual growth.
  • a first glimpse of the premiere college and career readiness program, Ohio 4 H Pathways to the Future.
  • a collaboration between Ohio 4-H and the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.
  • jam packed with career exploration sessions designed just for us!

WHEN: June 16-18, 2022

WHERE: Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, 2201 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus, OH 43210 on the OSU campus

COST: Thanks to generous financial support from the Ohio 4-H Foundation and others, the registration fee is $75.


CAREER EXPLORATION DAY

June 17 is devoted to exploring possible career choices offered through Ohio State’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. Youth will attend four sessions assigned from preferences reflected on their registration form.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

To attend, youth must meet the following criteria:

  • Complete 8th or 9th grade at the end of the 2021-2022 school year
  • Willing to experience in-depth “action learning” in specific interest areas
  • Be eager to share new ideas with 4-H members back home
  • Participate in additional Ohio 4-H Pathways to the Future programming throughout the upcoming year

Ohio 4-H Capital Day – registration open to current high school 4-H members

The Teen Leadership Council is proud to announce a new program coming to our teen 4-H membership this summer: Ohio 4-H Capital Day! Thanks to Matthew Swearingen, TLC Secretary from Adams County, this proposal was made a reality, and he has been instrumental in bringing this event to life for 4-H youth across the state. A grant from the Ohio 4-H Foundation is supporting the program! You are invited to share the following information with your teens and distribute the attached flyer to appropriate audiences and newsletters. Thanks in advance!

 

What is Ohio 4-H Capital Day?

This one-day event will give current high school students an opportunity to will join discussions covering current issues youth face, learn about advocacy, gain an understanding of the legislative process, and have the opportunity to meet with individuals involved with State Government.

 

When is Ohio 4-H Capital Day?

Join us in Columbus, our state capital, on Wednesday, June 15! Programming will begin at 9:00 AM and the day will conclude by 5:00 PM.

 

What is included in registration?

The day will include programming hosted at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, followed by a visit to the Ohio Statehouse, including a tour! Transportation for students will be provided from the 4-H Center to the Statehouse and back. Lunch will be provided to all attendees.

2022 Ractopamine in Hogs Update

Per Senior Fair Board:

Muskingum County Agricultural Society realizes that the use of ractopamine, including brand names: Paylean Optaflex, Engain or any generic derivative of ractopamine is legal BUT our marketplace for hogs will not accept hogs that have ractopamine in their system. Exhibitors whose hogs have ractopamine in their system will be subject to penalties that may include financial restitution and forfeit of sale money.
