In November, I will be hosting a three-part Workforce Workshop for 4-H teens (14-18 years old) on Zoom. 4-H teens are invited to register for one or more of these sessions designed to help them develop skills related to completing job, college and scholarship applications and interviews. Register online.

All sessions will be 1 hour.

Sessions will be recorded and shared with registered participants.

Earlier this week, Ohio 4-H released 4-H Club Fund Raising and Community Service Guidance – effective October 8, 2020.

As we move into 2021, I will share a variety of resources on this page to assist clubs.

Applications are now available for adult members of the Junior Fair Livestock Committee. Members are elected by the committee to serve a three year term in one of the following areas: beef, dairy, sheep or swine. Members must be approved 4-H volunteers – if not currently a 4-H volunteer, the applicant must be willing and able to complete the 4-H Volunteer Selection Process in 2020. Complete the application by October 30 at 4:00 p.m.

The Extension Office is currently staffed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week with public open hours of 10 am.-12 noon and 2-4 p.m. Per our county reopen plan with OSU Extension, each staff member is only in the office one day a week and teleworking on the others.

We continue to operate primarily through curbside service. Please call when you arrive in the parking lot and we will provide you with further instructions to complete your business transactions.

Jamie is typically in the office on Tuesdays.

Beginning this week, club volunteers can pick up their 2020 Year End Packet, which includes member awards for the following:

• Leftover awards from 2019
• Member Year Pins (10-14 year members)
• Skillathon Pins
• Skillathon Superior Ribbons, Age Division and Overall Winner Awards
• Still Project Grade Ribbons and County Winner Plaques

Club volunteers should be reaching out to you about distribution in a safe way that follows OSU and local health department guidelines on COVID-19 restrictions.

Ohio 4-H is seeking input from you to help us design virtual programming that would be specific to ages 13-19. We know that during a time of distance learning and modified 4-H programs, that there are many new opportunities to explore! With your feedback to a short survey, Ohio 4-H intends to use your thoughts and ideas in offering more teen-specific programs that can be accessed virtually!
